WOL is working with the Research Department of Food and Nutrition for Health Promotion of the university’s Graduate School of Health Sciences and have published our joint findings in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Nutrition and Food Chemistry.
WOL has conducted joint research with the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry of the university’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and published our findings in Neurochemistry International.
Working with the university’s International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine (IIIS) under the Japanese government’s World Premier International Research Center Initiative, WOL and IIIS carried out research on the intake of Watanabe active oysters and amelioration of sleep behavior. We discovered through EEG measurements that the WOL product relieved depression as well as feelings of anxiety, tension, rage and hostility in people suffering from stress. We also learned that our product can not only increase the hours of sleep but improve the depth of sleep as well. These research results were presented at the Asian Sleep Research Society in 2012; WOL also received the Best Presentation Award for research on intracerebral transferability of a novel antioxidant (E6) and the effect of E6-containing fractions on sleep EEG at the 39th Symposium of the Japanese Society of Sleep Research.
