The Third International Postgraduate Conference on Biotechnology (IPCB) was held from August 24 to 26, 2016 at the Surabaya Institute of Technology in Indonesia, and approximately 120 participants from 11 countries including Belgium, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Spain (in the alphabetical order of the countries) attended (photo above.) Following the first and second IPCB, the president of our company, Dr. Mitsugu Watanabe, was invited by the university, and delivered a talk on “A novel antioxidant extracted from oyster (Crassostrea gigas): its permeability to the brain and sleep-improving effects in human” (lower left in the photo).
Furthermore, Noor Suryani from the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, was awarded the “WOL Science Award” by our company for her excellent research presentation (lower left in the photo). As an extra prize of the “WOL Science Award”, we invited Ms. Noor to Japan and plan to attend a two-week training at our company.
